An Artful Ambition
Agumadu Favour Chiagozie is a professional fine artist (b. May, 1992) in Imo state, Nigeria. He went to Logos International Secondary School and was awarded the best fine art student in the cause of his study. He studied fine and applied arts at Abia State University, Uturu, Nigeria and graduated as the best graduating fine art student in 2017. He relocated to the UK in 2022 where he did his masters degree programme in Fine arts at the University of Hertfordshire.
Artist & Curator
Favour graduated in 2023 with distinction and has participated in over eight international art exhibitions in the last eight years. He co-founded an exhibition that holds annually themed ‘Experience’. The 2nd exhibition in 2021 was televised. Favour is experienced in curating artworks and is a practicing fine artist. He has been commissioned to carry out over 250 artworks in the last 6 years of which one was for the state governor of Imo state in 2017.
More Information
Favour’s artworks have evolved throughout the years and have been like a journey. He calls his works 2.5d works because it breaks the traditional understanding of 2 dimensional works and is not fully 3 dimensional. Some of his mediums include hair, paper, canvas, beads and unconventional materials. His themes cut through cultures, spirituality, human emotions, mental health and stories that heals the mind. One of his themes ‘Origin’ dig back up to 5 centuries seeking the origin of the Igbo tribe in Nigeria.

Kokopelli Art Gallery Lagos, Nigeria – Nov 2021
• Organized a group art exhibition and participated in it. The exhibition was themed “Experience” the 2nd.
• Curated the exhibition
• Made sure every artist’s profile was captured on the catalogue including their artworks before being printed and delivered for the exhibition.
• Ensured that the artworks and artworks details were properly captured by designers on the catalogue
• Successfully managing the stipulated budget of N500,000 for the exhibition and was able to raise extra funds from a sponsor in the United States.
• Taking necessary measures so that the exhibition catalogues were delivered on time for the exhibition
• Enlightened the press about the exhibition and it was aired on National tv i.e., Channels tv on Arthouse channels
• Obtained video footage of the exhibition from the press and preserved it for proper documentation.
• Wrote and got financial sponsorship from an individual in the United States that was used for part of the bill for the catalogue design.
• Transported artworks from different states of Nigeria to Lagos where the exhibition was held without 95% damages to the artworks.
• Brought together a group of professional artists who participated in the exhibition.
